North Dakota Gubernatorial candidate Armstrong says he favors "lean and mean" approach to government

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Gubernatorial candidate Representative Kelly Armstrong says he believes government should be as "lean and mean as possible".

"You know in some ways I think we can always work to do that. North Dakota is a state that always went through ups downs. We've been tremendously blessed over the last 15 years. We've come in favor, whether it's the oil industry, the tax base, the growth in West Fargo and Fargo. But at the same time we always have to be able to look at it and say, are we spending each and every dollar as efficiently for the taxpayer as possible," said Armstrong.

Armstrong says big government "infringes on liberties and infringes on people's rights and ability to make a living".

Armstrong made the comments while appearing on the Flag's What's on Your Mind.
