(Grand Forks, ND) -- The Grand Forks School Board has rejected a request from two local teachers for an early pay increase.

The two long-time teachers based their request on the Teacher Negotiated Contract, which specifies that teachers with 35 or more years of experience receive a $2,000 pay increase on top of their base salary.

The school board concluded that the section of the contract in question was invalidated by a clerical error, and denied the request.
