(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota is launching a new system to help local governments with financial reporting.

It's called the "Office of Good Government", and was created by the North Dakota Auditor's Office. State Auditor Josh Gallion says it will help local officials with financial reporting issues by providing free education to anyone who seeks it. The office is set to serve local governments who operate with less than $2 million in annual revenues.

“That’s going to solve so many of these problems,” Gallion said to the North Dakota Monitor. “Or it’s going to identify them much sooner before something spirals out of control.”

Editor's Note: A correction was issued to WDAY Radio by a ND Office of the Auditor spokesperson.  “The Office of Good Government, under the direction of the State Auditor’s Office, will primarily serve local governments that receive less than $2,000,000 in annual revenues.”
