UPDATE: Page man facing charges after Valley City crash seriously injures woman

(Update: 10:04 a.m. March 12th, 2024) -- The individuals involved in the serious injury crash in Valley City are now identified by authorities

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Ralph Thompson (85m, Page) reversed his vehicle in a counter-clockwise arc while attempting to leave an area near the 100 block of 3rd St NW. While reversing, Thompson's vehicle struck two parked cars, JoAnn Nathan (83f, Valley City) on a nearby sidewalk, two buildings, and an additional parked vehicle, before coming to a rest. 

Nathan was seriously injured in the crash, and was taken to Mercy Hospital before being flown by Sanford AirMed to a Fargo hospital. Thompson was not injured. 

Each vehicle involved also sustained moderate damage.

(Valley City, ND) -- Charges are pending for an 85-year-old man accused of hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle in Valley City.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 3rd Street Northwest. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the man struck two parked cars, continued onto a sidewalk, and then struck the woman, who was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man's car then hit two buildings and another parked car before coming to rest.

It's not yet clear what charges the man is facing, and there's no word on the woman's current condition.
