(Breckenridge, MN) -- A Breckenridge Police Officer is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a woman's home late last week.

Authorities say Ethan Chad Mahrer is facing two counts of first-degree burglary and interference with a 9-1-1 call after allegedly forcing his way into a the woman's home, pointing a gun at his own chest, and making statements that indicated suicidal intent. The woman called 9-1-1, and authorities say Mahrer grabbed the woman and covered her mouth to stop her from speaking to dispatch.

Court documents say Mahrer and the woman were previously in a relationship, but had ended it two-days prior.

Mahrer is currently on administrative leave pending an investigation.
