MN Court of Appeals rules pharmacist discriminated against woman attempting to purchase morning-after pill

(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Court of Appeals has sided with a woman who was denied emergency contraception by a pharmacist in 2019.

The court ruled that the pharmacist denying her the morning-after pill amounts to gender discrimination, and is in violation of the state's human rights act. The pharmacist, George Badeaux, who refused to fill the prescription, says the morning-after pill violates his religious beliefs.
