(Moorhead, MN) -- The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce is speaking against a Minnesota bill that would grant unemployment insurance to striking workers.

The chamber released an official position Wednesday morning against Minnesota SF 3588 / HF 3446, saying they believe the current unemployment insurance benefits "sufficiently address various allowances for striking workers when appropriate." Additionally, the chamber believes the bill would impact Minnesota's business competitiveness compared to other states.

"The Chamber is greatly concerned that additional business mandates, costs, liabilities or policy proposals such as SF 3588 / HF 3446 will further reduce Minnesota's business competitiveness and will negatively impact the business landscape in Minnesota communities that border neighboring states,” said FMWF Chamber President and CEO Shannon Full.
