(Bismarck, ND) -- Investigators say human remains found near Bismarck earlier this month haven't been linked to any known missing persons.

Police say the remains are those of a 77-year-old man. His name hasn't been released. Police say the man likely died by suicide.

The man was originally found around March 8th by a dog who found bone that appeared human in origin according to authorities. More remains were later found on March 14th.
