(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota may soon be expanding the amount of available staff for lawmakers by the end of the 2027 legislative session.

The North Dakota Monitor says a state committee heard from the Legislative Council, who outlined a five-year-plan to double staffing levels to be comparable to similar states. The committee says the current staffing levels forces them to wear many hats and are unable to specialize in specific areas. An expected 95 people would be hired under the proposal in areas of I.T., cyber security, policy analysis, administrative staff, and more.
