Minnesota woman arrested for alleged drug smuggling operation

(WDAY Radio) -- A Central Minnesota woman, 33-year-old Deanna Marie Gerads of Freeport, faces federal prison time after pleading guilty to trafficking drugs from Mexico to the Midwest.

Gerads admitted to conspiring to smuggle and distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl to Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

Gerads is set to be sentenced in July.
