(St. Paul, MN) -- Police report that a St. Paul man admitted to detectives that he shot and killed his sleeping friend on Monday, claiming he was trying to scare him.
18-year-old Adnan Abdi initially called 911 and reported his friend had accidentally shot himself. However, he later confessed to police that his friend was asleep with a gun in his hand, and Abdi pointed the gun at him, said "freeze," and pulled the trigger without realizing the gun was loaded. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Omar Nunow.
Abdi was charged with manslaughter. The incident is still under investigation.
