(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota lawmakers are proposing a bill that would require coverage of gender affirming care for health plans.

Representative Leigh Finke (DLF- St. Paul) says the bill applies to companies with religious exemptions, requiring them to inform employees of their stances when they would enroll in the company healthcare plan. Representative Danny Nadeau (R- Rogers) offered an amendment that would also cover de-transitioning, but it was voted down.

The bill was laid over for a possible inclusion in a larger bill.
