Teenager seriously injured in multiple vehicle crash near Minot

(Minot, ND) -- Three people are injured following a vehicle crash near Minot. 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 52 near mile marker 106, 10 miles southeast of Minot. Two vehicles traveling eastbound were attempting to pass a semi when a juvenile driver lost control and slid into the westbound lanes. The vehicle was struck on it's driver's side by a vehicle driven by Earl Fink (82m, Sawyer, ND), with debris from that crash striking another vehicle, driven by Jeffrey Machalenko (73m, Bergen, ND).

Multiple injuries were sustained in the crash. The juvenile male in serious condition and was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot. Earl Fink and his passenger, Viola Fink, were also taken to Trinity Hospital with minor injuries. Machalenko was not injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
