(Mandan, ND) — State officials are releasing the identities of those involved in a fatal crash north of Mandan on May 10th.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the incident happened on ND Highway 1806 approximately one mile north of Mandan. The vehicle driven by Alex Souvanthong (20m, Bismarck) was traveling northbound and crossed the center line, crashing head-on into a semi driven by Shane Grambling (46m, Mandan). Authorities say Souvanthong was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal injuries. Grambling was not hurt in the crash.
The crash caused a near five-hour temporary closure of Highway 1806 to clear debris and gather information.
No charges are currently being considered by authorities. The incident remains under investigation.
