Man injured after shooting in Grand Forks

(Grand Forks, ND) – A 25-year-old Grand Forks man was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday evening.

According to Grand Forks Police, the incident happened just after 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue South. Officers responded to the Abbott Sports Complex on a report of a male who had been shot.

The initial investigation revealed that a disturbance occurred on the basketball court of the complex, involving two males that were known to each other.

During the altercation, a 25-year-old Grand Forks man was shot and transported to Altru Hospital Emergency Room by private vehicle.

A suspect, identified as 24-year-old Allen Little, of Grand Forks, was detained on scene. Further investigation led to Little being arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment – extreme indifference.

The investigation is ongoing, but Grand Forks Police say there is no known threat to the public.
