ND Supreme Court rules CO2 Pipeline surveyors can enter private land

BISMARCK, ND — The North Dakota Supreme Court has ruled Summit Carbon Solutions can continue to go onto private property to survey for a CO2 pipeline’s route.

Landowners say this ruling gives the company unlimited access to enter their land. This ruling from the higher court comes after Summit sued several landowners who were refusing to let the company on their land. Summit Carbon Solutions says the company respects the court’s decision and they are “committed to conducting surveys responsibility, respecting landowners’ rights, and ensuring minimal impact.”

The company says they are following the legal requirements and compensating for damages.
