(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Governor Doug Bugrum publicly acknowledged for the first time this morning that he is being vetted to serve as vice president in a Trump Administration.

"Obviously it's an honor to be included and we are excited because you know every time we are still in discussions it's another opportunity to talk about the impact that North Dakota has and our importance on energy security, food security, and national security.

Burgum made the comments while appearing on The Flag's What's on Your Mind.

Others also being vetted for the VP position for Trump include Senators Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Tim Scott.

Burgum appeared Monday morning at the grand opening celebration for the Innovation Shop at Grand Farm near Casselton.
