Results still coming in, one of three WFPS referendum questions passed so far

WEST FARGO, N.D. – West Fargo Public Schools voters approve one referendum ballot measure with results still coming in for the other two.

The first question on the ballot was approved with 4,758 yes votes and 2,488 no votes for 65.7 percent yes votes. It includes $99.7 million for the completion of Heritage Middle School and Horace High School, adding multipurpose rooms at West Fargo and Horace high schools, building an inclusive playground at the Early Childhood Center, special education improvements, adding classroom space for early childhood special education programming, the renovation and expansion of South Elementary School, safety and security upgrades and restroom renovations.

Question two includes $58 million for elementary renovations, a new elementary school, acquisition of land and a second expansion of space for early childhood special education programming.

Question three authorizes the district to be a collaborative partner with the West Fargo Park District and the West Fargo Youth Hockey Association to expand the Veterans Memorial Arena for $5 million.

Each question needs 60 percent yes votes to pass.
