WEST FARGO, N.D. – A West Fargo man is in jail after an incident outside a West Fargo middle school.
West Fargo Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle this morning at 8:45 at the intersection of 9th Street East and 13th Avenue East.
The driver refused to stop, fleeing at a low rate of speed toward Cheney Middle School, where a juvenile passenger exited the vehicle in the drop-off lane. The driver also exited and began to aggressively engage with officers.
43-year-old Lee Henry Smith was quickly arrested for misdemeanors of fleeing and preventing arrest.
