West Fargo missing person case investigation area expanded to include Fargo landfill

FARGO, N.D. – Officers from Fargo and West Fargo, along with agents from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, are investigating the case of a missing 24-year-old woman.

West Fargo’s investigation led officers to believe that evidence related to her disappearance may be located at a home on Calico Drive South in West Fargo. Fargo Police and the Red River Valley SWAT team executed a search warrant Friday night in the 4400 block of Calico Drive South in connection to the West Fargo Police Department’s missing persons case for Isadora Wengel.

While SWAT served the warrant, the team utilized a flash-sound diversionary device, breached the door of the residence and detained one person, who has since been released.

Fargo Police detectives and investigators remain actively processing the scene for evidence.

At around 6:30 p.m., Fargo Police announced they were expanding the investigation area to include the City of Fargo landfill.

“To ensure all relevant evidence is collected, the FPD is working closely with City landfill personnel to search the specific area where trash from the Calico Dr. S. location would have been disposed,” Fargo Police said in a press release.

Flag Family News had received a tip that several law enforcement officials were at the landfill digging through garbage earlier this afternoon.
