While some support it, some Canadians against Canada becoming the 51st state

(WASHINGTON, DC) – While some Canadians find it insulting that President Donald Trump is continuing to tout the possibility of Canada becoming the 51st state in the United States, others aren’t so upset.

At a recent meeting with Canadian Premiers and business leaders, Senator Kevin Cramer said he heard a resounding thought from the leaders.

“We find it to be the ultimate compliment that Donald Trump would think us worthy of being the 51st American state,” Cramer said of the thoughts of the business leaders.

He said he’s hearing from a lot of people about the possibility.

“I think the average Canadian is very, very upset about the 51st state thing,” Cramer said. “I hear it from so many people that are Trump supporters but just find it to be demeaning.”
