Winter weather affects travel across the region

FARGO, N.D. – A blizzard warning in the Red River Valley has begun to show its impacts across the region.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol noted on social media that snow has begun to build up in the passing lane on I-29 in Traill County. The buildup is causing significantly reduced visibility, especially when traveling behind large vehicles.

“Slow down, increase following distance, and turn on your lights,” the Patrol noted.

The entire eastern side of North Dakota is under a Travel Alert.

One flight into Hector International Airport has been canceled so far.

It’s an inbound Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) that was scheduled to arrive at 12:31 p.m.

All other inbound flights are either ahead or on schedule.

An 11 a.m. departure to MSP on Delta Airlines has been delayed roughly 40 minutes.

All other outbound flights are on time.
