(FARGO, ND) – A Fargo woman is facing a single Class A felony charge for distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death of a Fargo man earlier this summer.
According to court documents, Fargo Police were called to a Fargo residence on June 7 for a welfare check on a man whose co-workers were concerned when a co-worker failed to show up for work for two days in a row.
Authorities arrived to the apartment building and called the man’s phone, which they heard ringing. A knock on the door went unanswered. Fargo firefighters were called to assist with an unlock, and, when authorities gained entrance, they found the man deceased, with no immediate signs of suspicious circumstances leading to the death, other than the appearance of illicit drug use.
Authorities later interviewed Lydia Mallick and determined, through the investigation, that she had sold M30 fentanyl pills ‘to an individual, in Fargo, that passed away,’ according to court documents.
Mallick remains in the custody of the Cass County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond as of early Saturday afternoon. She’s due back in court on January 15 for a preliminary hearing and arraignment.
