(Fontana, CA) -- A new study suggests exercising consistently reduces the risk of severe coronavirus symptoms.
The study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine uncovered that COVID patients who exercised on a regular basis before getting sick were less likely to be hospitalized, admitted to the ICU or die from the virus.
It also found patients who were not active had a greater risk of the needing hospital care or dying.
They recommend doing at least 150 minutes a week of moderate physical activity or at least 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic exercise.
