(Bismarck, ND) -- Governor Doug Burgum has signed the 'essential caregivers' bill.
It will require long-term care facilities and state leaders to re-work visitation rules during an emergency, and to make more residents available for in-person visits.
Legislators passed the bill with an overwhelming majority.
The bill says people in nursing homes can have one person designated to visit for support if another closure happens.
