Mayor Tim Mahoney says Pandemic in Fargo "Is Over"

(Fargo, ND) -- A message that things are looking extremely good in Fargo.

Mayor Tim Mahoney, while talking with Chris Berg on AM 1100 The Flag Friday, made a solid statement when it comes to the status of the pandemic in our area.

"This thing has disappeared," said Mahoney. "Next Monday were taking away mask mandates for city buildings and opening everything up. We feel the community has done a great job getting out there and getting vaccinated, and it's really moved things forward."

Mahoney says COVID detection in wastewater was next to none, a key indicator in what he believes is the disappearance, for the most part, of the virus that has plagued the world for the better part of the past year and change. He added that roughly 55% of residents have been vaccinated, which is near the 70-80% needed for herd immunity.
