Nisswa Restaurant Faces Big Fines Over COVID Emergency Violations

(Nisswa, MN)  --  A coffee and waffles shop in Nisswa now faces about 98-thousand dollars in fines for continuing to operate despite violations of COVID-19 emergency rules.

The Iron Waffle Coffee Company had its business license revoked following at least 49 violations of court orders related to the pandemic but is still open regardless.  However, the fine is stayed for 30 days while the restaurant and the state apparently work on a potential settlement.

The owner has posted a fundraiser link, which has received over eight-thousand dollars in donations so far.
