NYC Declares Racism a Public Health Crisis

(New York, NY) -- The New York City Board of Health is declaring racism a public health crisis.

Health Commissioner Doctor Dave Chokshi says the pandemic has magnified the issue. The board passed a resolution on Monday, calling on the city health department to fight racism in healthcare.

One suggestion includes reviewing the city health code to root out systemic racism, which mostly impacts the wellbeing of minority residents.
