MLB owners lockout players as CBA expires

(Irving, TX) -- Baseball fans are hoping to see their teams in action next year.  

MLB owners locked out players Thursday after the collective bargaining agreement expired. That means no trades or free-agent signings. Players aren't even allowed inside club facilities until they reach a new deal.  

Commissioner Rob Manfred called it a hard but important step. He said delaying it any further would put Spring Training, Opening Day, and the rest of the season at risk.
