(St. Paul, MN) -- Former Republican Party of Minnesota chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan is making a run for her late husband's seat in Congress.
Carnahan announced her bid Monday, saying it was her husband's wish that she "fulfill his legacy." She is one of nine Republican candidates vying for the seat in the May 24th primary.
She resigned as Minnesota's Republican Party chairwoman under pressure last year following the arrest of her friend and major party donor Tony Lazzaro on child sex trafficking charges last August. Carnahan was the first Asian American woman to run either major party in Minnesota.
