(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo man says Job Service North Dakota is accusing him of fraud and asking him to pay back more than three thousand dollars in Covid-19 related unemployment funds.
"Basically Job Service said hey you actually got money you should not have received and now we are going to ask you for that money back, and this is two years later," said Brian Power.
Power says he followed his former employer's directive to file for unemployment when he was required to stay home because of "close contact". But later, Power says he was surprised to discover the employer actually paid him some of his salary while at home, leading Job Service to accuse him of double dipping. Power is now making payments to the agency. We're waiting to hear back from Job Service to learn more about Brian's case and others in similar situations.
