(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota House is advancing a bill that aims to make Minnesota energy utilities carbon-free by 2040.
The bill is backed by Governor Walz and passed the House by a narrow margin.
Opponents say the move would be expensive for consumers and that there aren't enough renewable energy resources to meet needs in the state.
The bill will be introduced on the Senate floor Monday.
