(Fargo, ND) -- As summer gets closer, a local hospital is encouraging parents and prospective athletes to schedule a sports physical early for the 2023-24 school year.
Essentia Health in Fargo is reminding parents and guardians to scheduling a sports physical for all students. North Dakota, Minnesota, and multiple other states require student athletes to complete a preparticipation physical examination before they can start a competitive season or new sport. Completed physicals will cover students for the 2023-24 school year. Links to the forms needed for each state can be found below.
Students, parents, and guardians will learn if participation in a sport is safe, how to protect athletes from injury, and how to play with medical injury or chronic illness. You can schedule a sports physical by clicking here.
