Fargo Library to Host Digital Photography Sessions Aug. 5 and 6

 The Fargo Public Library will host two sessions on the basics of digital photography Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 at the downtown Main Library. Bob Splichal, a self-taught advanced photographer, will lead the sessions for people who want to take better photos but are not sure what all of the buttons and knobs on a DSLR camera are for.  At the first session, “Photography Basics,” participants will learn how to take better pictures while in auto mode and why and how to use the advanced auto settings on a digital camera. This session is Monday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Splichal will cover the basic aspects of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed and ISO). The second session, “The Art of Photography,” will include a recap of the exposure triangle, along with learning how to create height, depth and width in photos to make them more appealing. This session is Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Splichal will also discuss data cards, LCD screens and battery life with regard to cameras.
