Lincoln PTA to host all-school walk-a-thon

The Lincoln Elementary Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.) is sponsoring a walk-a-thon fundraiser on Friday, September 20. Students have collected pledges from family and friends, and will walk a minimum of six laps around the event course at the appointed time for their grade level. For each lap walked they will receive a bracelet to keep. There are game stations located in the middle of the walking track to allow students to cheer for each other and practice sportsmanship skills. All funds raised will go to the Lincoln P.T.A. to help support programs within the school serving the critical needs of the Lincoln students. The total funds raised through this event in past years is $53,933.

Wearing red, white, and blue attire, the entire Lincoln student body will take a group picture at 8:45 a.m. and then walk two laps around the course to kick off the fundraiser, followed by assigned walking/game station times for each grade level throughout the entire school day. Fargo Fire and Police Department sirens will give the starting mark for the all-school laps, and walkers will enter the course underneath a balloon arch to invigorating music.

In the case of inclement weather, the walk-a-thon and associated activities will be moved indoors.
