Drug Investigation in South Fargo

The Cass County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Fargo Police Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit and the Red River Valley SWAT Team, served a Narcotics related search warrant at 924 5th Street South on Friday morning.  The search warrant was part of an ongoing joint drug investigation between the Cass County Drug Task Force and the Fargo Police Narcotics Unit.  The Red River Valley SWAT Team was asked to make entry into the residence due to some elevated risk factors associated with the occupants of the address.  After entry was made, the residence was secured and all occupants were detained.  The scene was then turned over to investigators to complete the search and conduct interviews.

The Red River Valley SWAT Team is a resource for local agencies to use when there is the potential for increased danger when serving search warrants.  Some examples of these risk factors include past violent criminal history related to suspects at the residence, information regarding weapons being present, and criminal gang affiliations of suspects present.  The goal is for search warrant service to be done as safely as possible, not only for the officers but the occupants and suspects as well.

One individual was arrested for an open arrest warrant, identified as 37 year old Jamie Urrabzo of Fargo, ND.  Additional charges and suspects are possible as this is an ongoing investigation.  No other information will be released at this time.
