The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of a release occurring Thursday, July 19 at the Hystad salt water disposal well, about eight miles north of Arnegard, North Dakota.
Missouri Basin Well Service, Inc reported Friday that 450 barrels of brine were released and contained within the diking on-site due to a tank overflow. Crews are onsite and cleanup is underway.
A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor additional cleanup.
