America’s Land Auctioneer and Pifer’s Land:

On this week’s America’s Land Auctioneer Radio show, our hosts are Steve Link and Erika Stanley from Pifer’s Auction & Realty. They are joined by guests Kent Ellis and Abbey Messer. 

 Kent Ellis is the owner of LS Hydrocarbyl, LLC, is a partner in White Butte Resources, an oil and gas development company, and is co-owner of The Restoration Properties. Kent discusses how North Dakota education careers in tech education, with apprentices within the 2 and 4-year colleges, can prepare individuals to work in the Oil, Gas, Wind, Solar, etc. industries to set them up for success. He shares the importance of having transferable workforce skills and a fallback position or a skill trade like welding, machining, construction, etc is important to have if other jobs aren’t available.

 Kent Ellis provides some valuable insight into the future of the North Dakota workforce. He shares how needs are in precision agriculture and in energy including diesel techs, UAV operators, wind and solar, robotics, AI, and Automation.  He also discusses how many former residents are returning home after being gone and starting families. 

Abbey is a Pifer’s Real Estate Agent at Pifer’s Auction Center of North America in Steele, ND. She discusses the need for rural properties and farmsteads and the best way to sell them. Abbey also talks about the increase in rural property sales from 2018 and how interest rates affect the housing market.
