A Former RedHawks Pitcher Is Headed To The Cleveland Indians Organization

After only one start with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, right-handed pitcher Kevin Herget has had his contract transferred to the Cleveland Indians. Herget is in his eighth professional season after signing with Fargo-Moorhead on Jan. 25.

He was drafted in 2013 in the 39th round of the MLB Amateur Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. In eight professional seasons Herget has a 42-20 record in 231 appearances. He has also struck out 499 batters, walked 131, and given up 189 earned runs in 516 ⅔ innings of work. In Herget’s only start of the season for the RedHawks he pitched seven innings while only allowing one run on three hits.

Herget is the fourth RedHawk to have his contract purchased by an MLB franchise this year. He is also the 84th player overall in franchise history to have his contract purchased by an MLB franchise.
