Star University of North Dakota sophomore forward Riese Gaber has been rewarded for his solid performance against No. 6 St. Cloud State over the weekend. On Friday night Gaber led the Fighting Hawks with four total points on two goals and two assists in their 7-1 victory. The six goal win was the largest margin of victory against the Huskies for UND since 2010.
This season Gaber is leading UND with a team-high 26 points on 11 goals and 15 assists. He also leads the Fighting Hawks with five power play goals.
He has been named a Hobey Baker Award nominee along with teammate Jake Sanderson. Gaber is 13th in the country among underclassmen in scoring and second in the NCHC.
