MLB suspends Anthony Rendon four games for altercation with fan

Major League Baseball is suspending Anthony Rendon for four games. The league announced the suspension and an undisclosed fine on Monday after the Angels third baseman got into an altercation with a fan in Oakland last week.

ESPN reports the suspension was originally set for five games, but negotiations between MLB and the MLB Players' Association reduced it to four. Rendon was seen grabbing a fan by the shirt as he exited the first-base dugout.

Rendon claimed the man called him an explicit word and the third baseman took a swipe at him after letting go of the shirt.
