Last night the Minnesota Twins took down the New York Yankees 11-2 in the Bronx. The victory was powered by a nine run first inning.
Joe Ryan was stellar for Minnesota striking out 10 batters over seven innings while only giving up one run. Ryan improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory.
The top of the first inning was a revolving door of Twins hits and RBIs that all started with a Trevor Larnach RBI sacrifice fly, 1-0 Minnesota. Then Miranda hit a two RBI double, then additional RBI doubles from Donovan Solano and Christian Vasquez, 5-0 Minnesota. Michael A. Taylor hit a two run homer extending the lead to 7-0 in favor of the Twins. The first inning scoring ended after Edouard Julien and Carlos Correa hit back-to-back solo home runs, 9-0 Twins.

In the top of the third inning Minnesota’s Taylor hit his second two run homer of the game and third of the season, extending the Twins’ lead to 11-0.
Both of New York’s runs would come via Anthony Rizzo home runs. The first was in the bottom of the fourth inning and the second was in the bottom of the ninth.
After the game Edouard Julien spoke about picking up his first big league hit and home run:
"I've been dreaming about it my whole life. To do it in New York, close to home, with my family and friends in the stands, it's a dream come true."
