Wild comeback falls short, Stars tie series

The Minnesota Wild were defeated by the Dallas Stars 3-2 in Game 4 on Sunday evening. The best-of-7 series is now tied at 2-2.

Filip Gustavsson saved 21 of the 24 shots he faced with two of his goals against coming on the penalty kill. As for Dallas Lakeville, Minn native, Jake Oettinger saved 32 of the 34 shots he faced.

The game was scoreless after the first period. The first goal of the game came in the late stages of the second period. Dallas’ Tyler Seguin found the back of the net at the 15:42 mark, giving the Stars a 1-0 lead.

In the third period the Stars struck first 3:05 into the period as Evgenii Dadonov extended the lead to 2-0. John Klingberg countered at the 5:58 mark, cutting the Wild’s deficit to 2-1. Tyler Seguin would score his second power play goal of the game 16:29 into the period giving Dallas a two goal lead once again, this time 3-1. Freddy Gaudreau would score a power play goal of his own at 18:40 making it a 3-2 game, but that’s all the closer Minnesota would get as the game went final 80 seconds later.

Game 5 of their series will be on Tuesday night in Dallas with puck drop set for 7 p.m. Game coverage will be available on Bally Sports North and TBS.
