(New York, NY) -- The NBA is awarding this year's Rookie of the Year award. The league announced on Tuesday that Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero was awarded as this year's Rookie of the Year. Banchero led all rookies with 20 points per game and also averaged 6.9 rebounds.
The 20-year-old forward beat out Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams and Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler in the voting to earn the accolade.
Banchero was the top overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
