On Tuesday afternoon a pair of Minnesota State University Moorhead softball players earned All-NSIC honors, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference league office announced. MSUM sophomore Avery Steffen and freshman Mack Gallagher secured spots on the All-NSIC First Team. Steffen and Gallagher are the first Dragons to be named to an All-NSIC team since 2015.

Steffen had a solid season at the plate with a .386 batting average that included 44 total hits. She tallied three home runs and picked up 25 RBIs. The Zumbrota, Minn. native, had a .553 slugging percentage, .432 on-base percentage, and stole six bases.

In the circle, the sophomore was also outstanding, pitching 49 1/3 innings with a team-leading 2.70 ERA. She racked up 42 strikeouts and limited opposing batters to a .226 batting average. Steffen finished the regular season with a .941 fielding percentage, splitting time on the rubber, at first base, and right field.

Gallagher had an impressive freshman campaign. She leads the team in quite a few categories including batting average (.435), hits (60), home runs (10), RBIs (49), slugging percentage (.732), and on-base percentage (.497). Her 10 home runs and 49 RBI are single-season school records. The Frankfort, Ill. native, was outstanding at third base finishing with a .953 fielding percentage.
