On Wednesday evening the Minnesota Twins and San Diego Padres battled in the second game of their midweek series.
Both starting pitchers had quality starts in the game. Minnesota’s Pablo Lopez tossed six ⅓ innings with eight strikeouts while only giving up one run. San Diego’s Seth Lugo had a similar outing, going six inning innings with five strikeouts, but gave up two runs. Both pitchers would end up with no-decisions.
The Twins would begin the scoring with a 415 foot Max Kepler solo home run in the first inning. Then in the third inning Carlos Correa would drive in Kepler on a double, making it 2-0 Minnesota.

The Padres would strike back in the seventh inning with a 417 foot solo home run by Juan Soto. In the eighth inning Manny Machado drove in the game tying run on a sacrifice fly.
Extra inning would come with Austin Nola giving San Diego a 3-2 lead in the 10th inning on a sacrifice. In the bottom half of the inning, Minnesota’s Donovan Solano tied the game at three with an RBI single.

The Twins and Padres will square off Thursday afternoon in their series rubber match with first pitch set for 12:10 p.m. Bailey Ober will be on the bump for Minnesota. San Diego with counter with Yu Darvish.
