The Minnesota Twins put together a pair of seven-run inning during a 16-3 rout of the Cubs at Target Field.
The Twins scored seven in the third and added seven more in the eighth. Trevor Larnach had a double, home run, and four RBI, while Joey Gallo and Michael A. Taylor also went yard.
Louie Varland earned his first win of the season after giving up three runs in 6 1/3 innings. Minnesota has won four of its last five.
Christopher Morel and Seiya Suzuki went deep in the losing effort, and Marcus Stroman was charged with his fourth loss after surrendering six runs on seven hits in two-and-two-thirds innings. Chicago has dropped five of seven.
The Twins are now heading to Los Angeles for a three game series with the Dodgers beginning Monday night with first pitch scheduled for 9:10 p.m. Pablo Lopez will be on the bump for Minnesota
