Dragon Men’s Basketball is adding the program’s third Division I transfer this offseason. Former Cleveland State guard JaMir Price has verbally committed to MSUM.

The 6-foot-3, 180 pound combo guard spent two seasons at Mineral Area College, a junior college in Park Hills, Mo. and one at Cleveland State. Price averaged 13.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 31 games at Mineral Area College in the 2021-22 season, shooting 44% from three and 53% overall from the floor. This past season with the Vikings he played 25 games averaging 1.2 points per game and shot 36% from three-point range.

Price joins Broden Lien (South Dakota State) and Jacob Jennissen (Colorado State) as Division I transfers in the 2022-23 season, along with Division II transfer Ja’Kair Sanchez (Roberts Wesleyan University).

MSUM Women’s Basketball has received a verbal commitment from Kaylynn Asberry from St. Peter’s University in New Jersey. Asberry is a Minnesota native who played her high school basketball at Como Park in St. Paul. She was also a five-time all-conference selection in high school.

In her lone season for the Peacocks, she appeared in 30 games averaging 17 minutes with 2.3 points and 1.3 assists per game. Asberry has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

She joins Ashley Gustavson (Wayne State graduate transfer) as transfers for the Dragon Women in the upcoming 2022-23 season.
