Twins bullpen falters as they drop series finale to Toronto

(Toronto, ON) -- The Toronto Blue Jays overcame a five-run deficit during a 7-6 win over the Minnesota Twins at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays trailed 6-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth before Matt Chapman hit a two-run homer to cap a three-run inning and bring Toronto within two. In the bottom of the eighth, Cavan Biggio smoked a three-run shot to put the complete the comeback. Nate Pearson improved to 4-0 with the win in relief, while Jordan Romano picked up his 18th save. The Blue Jays have won four of six.

Donovan Solano went deep for Minnesota, and Emilio Pagan was charged with the loss out of the bullpen.  Royce Lewis and Trevor Larnach each drove in a pair of runs. The Twins have dropped six of eight.

Minnesota has an off day on Monday to travel back home. The Twins will invite the Milwaukee Brewers to Target Field for a two game series beginning on Tuesday.
