Long ball costs Twins in loss to Braves

(Atlanta, GA) -- The Twins surrendered five home runs during a 6-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.

Joe Ryan gave up three home runs during a four-run first inning, and he was taken deep two more times in the second. Ryan was charged with his fifth loss after allowing six runs in three innings. The Twins remain in first place in the AL Central at 40-41.

Kenta Maeda starts for Minnesota against Atlanta on Wednesday with first pitch slated for 11:20 a.m.

In other team news, the Twins placed reliever Brock Stewart on the 15-day injured list with elbow soreness yesterday.
